Josh Rimer: Is Thomas Vanek Minnesota Bound? Last night a solid source informed me that If Thomas Vanek is moved prior to the Trade Deadline, his destination of choice would be Minnesota Wild.

If Minnesota does take him, can they take the third jerseys with him, too?

To answer your question: I'll say Minnesota is not a "city" of any kind.

Can't see Minnesota affording him. It would only be a rental.

If Darcy lets Vanek and Miller go in free agency like Briere and Drury he will be chased out of this city.

They are not the only UFA's that will walk at the end of the season. It happens every year.

But how can Minnesota afford ANOTHER big contract? Weren't they the ones crying poor?

Bet they make room and take him by the trade deadline. Bet he also resigns there.

I'd love to watch all this talent on the Wild not have to play Mike Yeo's braindead dump and chase game.

They are maybe the most boring team in hockey to watch

What's sad is how many teams are playing with that "strategy".
I miss the old days of fast skating end to end hockey, and by old days I mean 2006!

And you don't know how amused I am, as a "long time" Pred fan, to hear old Craig crying about that.

They still haven't fixed the CBA to save owners and GMs from themselves, have they?

Nope. They put a band aid on things (which could have been done in about a week) and called it a day.
